Pyrénée precariously poised above a stream - fanart by Richard ’Kuroku’ Palmer

Kuroku: For those of you who aren’t familiar with the graphic novel Pyrénée, it’s a French GN about an orphaned girl raised in the remote Pyrenees by a bear and the story follows her survival in the forest and her coming to terms with her humanity. It is a very well done and tasteful book, despite the nudity.

This pic was the first one on MS Paint where I went really head on to illustrate a background, which I’ve traditionally had the least success at. I think it turned out pretty well, and I’m currently working on a 4’5” x 3’5” version in acrylic paint.

Lee M: My original title suggestion was “Pyrénée precariously poised above a pool - or rather, stream”. My version has more alliteration, but obviously it was too long.
