Omitted from this scene is the presence of a nest of cobras in the building where Mowgli is trapped. In the original story he has to speak the cobras’ Master Word to prevent them from striking. The comic censors clearly considered this too frightening for children, though they were almost certainly underestimating children’s tolerance.
