I Made Time Stand Still
A recurring theme in these 50s pulp comics is the scientist who invents a machine with unexpected effects - in this case, a time machine that merely freezes time except for its user. As we all know, the idea of walking around in a world where everyone is frozen has well-explored erotic connotations. In this case, however, our impoverished scientist uses it to steal vast amounts of cash and jewels instead. Don’t you just love the implication that a formerly respectable scientist would abandon all of his moral principles for money? For me, though, what sells the story is the twist ending, which has a ton of unexplored possibilities.
